Redmi Note 7 Pro Price in India, Expected Specifications and Launch Date
Updated on 2019-02-23 by Shivam Setia
Before going into the details of what we should expect from Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro, first take a look at how Redmi Note series has performed in the last few years.
Redmi Note series is one of the best selling series of smartphones by Xiaomi. Decent looks, good hardware at affordable prices have made it an excellent deal over the years. Redmi Note 3 came with the powerful Snapdragon 650 chipset at around 10000 and became a runaway success. The next phone in the series, Redmi Note 4 also offered good performance with excellent battery and was a bestseller in 2017.
This year we have seen the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro. The Redmi Note 5 wasn't really exciting as it was very similar to Redmi Note 4 in terms of hardware. The Pro version, Redmi Note 5 Pro was exciting because of the powerful Snapdragon 636 processor and dual camera setup on the back and a 20MP camera on the front for selfies. Redmi Note 5 Pro has also clocked millions in sales numbers. It remained the budget king for around 6 months and only now in October it is getting some tough competition from phones like Moto One Power and Realme 2 Pro.
As you know, Xiaomi has already launched Redmi Note 6 Pro which is the successor of Redmi Note 5 Pro. Redmi Note 6 Pro is almost same as Note 5 Pro. The only change you will see is that the 6 Pro comes with a notch display and the front camera is dual now. It is not a big upgrade so it is not really exciting. Most of the buyers who bought Note 5 Pro would like to skip Note 6 Pro.
We might see big upgrades in Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro. The Rs. 10000 to 15000 segment has heated up and there is too much competition now. Realme 2 and Realme 2 Pro, Nokia 5.1 and Nokia 6.1 Plus, Moto One Power and the upcoming Honor 8X are going to make things difficult for Xiaomi so the Note 7 series has to level up to beat the competition. These are the changes that we expect in the Note 7 series from the current Note 6 series.
First major change that we are expecting is in design. Xiaomi has been using the metal unibody design from last 3 years and they look boring now. We think Xiaomi will follow the trend and we will see reflective glass or polycarbonate back designs on the upcoming Redmi Note 7 and Pro versions.
Second big change should be on the display side. Note 6 Pro comes with a notch display but the big iPhone X like notch is getting replaced by Waterdrop/Dewdrop kind of notch. The waterdrop notch is very small and provides more screen to body ratio. The latest midrange phones like Realme 2 Pro also have dewdrop display so we can expect the same on the Redmi Note 7 series.
Third change might be on the processor side. Note 5 Pro and 6 Pro come with same Snapdragon 636 processor so we are expecting an upgrade to Snapdragon 670 or 675 in the Redmi Note 7 Pro. The normal Redmi Note 7 might see an upgrade to Snapdragon 636 from 625.
On the Camera side, we expect big changes. The Redmi Note 7 Pro will surely have a dual camera setup. The dual camera on Redmi Note 5 Pro and 6 Pro and we think Xiaomi will improve that further by including the latest 48MP camera sensors.
There are some rumors going on that Redmi Note 7 Pro would be a 5G smartphone. We don't think that's going to happen. We think Redmi Note 7 Pro would support dual 4G VOLTE.
Expected Specifications of Redmi Note 7 Pro
- 6.4" Full HD Plus Display with Dewdrop Notch
- Snapdragon 670/675 Processor
- 4/6GB RAM
- 64/128GB Storage
- 48+5MP Dual Rear Camera
- 20+5MP Dual Front Camera
- 4000 mAh Battery
- Android 9 Pie
- Dual 4G VOLTE
Redmi Note 7 Pro Price in India

|4GB RAM and 64GB Storage||Rs. 13999|
|6GB RAM and 64GB Storage||Rs. 15999|
|8GB RAM and 128GB Storage||Rs. 18999|
Redmi Note 7 Pro Launch Date in India
We expect the launch of Redmi Note 7 Pro in April or May 2019. Redmi Note 6 Pro was released in October this year and the competitors are getting aggressive so Xiaomi won't wait for more than 6 months for the Note 7 Pro release, otherwise, they can lose significant market share.
Redmi Note 7 Pro Availability
Just like Redmi Note 5 Pro, Redmi Note 7 Pro might also be launched as Flipkart exclusive smartphone in India. Just like other Xiaomi phones, initially it will be available in flash sales only and after a few months, you will be able to get it in open sale.
Redmi Note 7 Pro Leaks and Rumors
Current leaks suggest that Redmi Note 7 Pro will have a glass sandwich design. Snapdragon 675 will power the internals and there will be a dual camera setup with a 48MP Samsung or Sony sensor.
Stay tuned for more updates on the Redmi Note 7 Pro.
