Redmi 7 comes with a 6.26-inch display which is sharp and bright for under 8k price point. The build is of polycarbonate material but with the shine, it looks like glass. The design is also good for the price range as the phone competes with the Realme 3.

On the processor side, Redmi 7 brings in a Snapdragon 632 with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage which can be expanded up to 512 MB. Vivo Y91i is a nice looking phone from Vivo with a large 6.2-inch display. The display resolution is HD+ 720 and the aspect ratio is 19:9. The display has a V-shaped teardrop/dewdrop notch on top and the bezels are very thin all around. The screen to body ratio of this phone is around 90% which is excellent considering it is a budget phone.

The back of the phone has a gradient design with 2 colors. The phone is made of polycarbonate but feels good in the hand. On the back there a single 13MP camera and on the front there is a single 5MP camera sensor. Both cameras perform well in outdoor conditions where lighting is good. Indoor performance of the cameras is just average.

Samsung Galaxy A10 is the most affordable smartphone of the Galaxy A series and is priced around Rs. 8000 in India. Like other A series phones, the A10 comes with a large 6.22-inch HD+ display with an Infinity V notch on top which also houses the front 5MP camera. The back of the A10 is very basic and has a 13MP single rear camera with a flash.

The phone comes with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage. There is also a dedicated MicroSD card to increase storage. The 32GB storage is fine for most users but the 2GB RAM can act as a bottleneck if you use a lot of apps and games. 3GB here would have made the experience much more smooth. The processor is Exynos 7884 which is Samsung's own processor and is a decent performer.

8. Realme 3

Realme 3 is the 4th smartphone launched by Realme for an under 10000 budget in last 1 year. Realme 3 comes with an upgraded processor and camera sensor for a price of just Rs 8999.

It has a 6.22-inch HD+ display with a dewdrop notch design. The back is build of polycarbonate and not the glass as seen in the Redmi Note 7. This smartphone is powered by the new MediaTek Helio P70 which was also seen in the Realme U1 and is a very powerful processor. Realme 3 scores 1,37,901 on the Antutu which is just short of the  Redmi Note 7.

The rear camera has a 13 MP primary sensor and 2 MP depth sensor to support the portrait shots. For the front camera, we get a 13 MP sensor. The camera performance looks good as the image captured has natural colors and decent detailing. The portrait shots somewhat faced some issues but overall the camera worked decently well for the price range.

There are two variants available with 3GB-32GB priced at Rs 8999 and 4GB-64GB configuration priced at 10999. Realme 3 holds a 4230 mAh battery and can easily work for more than 1.5 days. Despite a high rated battery, the phone feels light in hand. We have both the fingerprint and face unlocking on the phone and they work extremely fast and are accurate. The software is upgraded to the Color OS 6.0 which is a custom skin based on Android 9.0 and they introduced app tray in this new UI but has some bloatware as well.

There is a dedicated SD card slot so you can expand the memory along with dual sim usage. The phone has a micro USB port and does not support fast charging.  For pricing under 10000, the phone looks decent but not a great value for money given what Redmi Note 7 offers at Rs 1000 extra pricing.

9. Samsung M10

Samsung M10 is Samsung's budget phone to compete with brands like Redmi and Realme. It comes with great looks and large display and doesn't look like a budget phone at all. The display is 6.2 inches large and the resolution is HD+. It has a tiny waterdrop notch on top. Samsung calls it Infinity V display. The bezels are thin and the screen to body ratio is above 90%.

There is a dual camera setup on the back and single front selfie camera. The rear setup is 13MP+5MP where 13MP is a color lens and 5MP is ultra wide angle lens to capture a wider field of view. The battery inside the M10 is 3400 mAh and would give a backup of 1 day with normal usage. With low use you can get around 1.5 days on a single charge.

10. Realme 2 Pro

Realme 2 Pro is a Flipkart exclusive smartphone. It comes with a 6.3 Inch display with dewdrop/waterdrop notch and a Full HD Plus screen resolution. The display has perfect brightness and viewing angles and you would enjoy using it. The back on the phone has a plastic(polycarbonate) body but has a shiny finish which looks like a glass finish. The build quality is decent and the phone is easy to hold and use as it weighs only 170 gm.

It is powered by the Snapdragon 660 processor which is a very powerful chipset for a phone under 15k and scores around 1,30,000 on the Antutu Benchmarks. The portrait shot edge detection also works very well. On the front camera, we have a 16MP f/2.0 sensor which also clicks beautiful images and also supports portrait shots. There is AI beauty mode for both the front and rear camera that recognizes the scene and changes the contrast, exposure and colour for images to look better.

Realme 2 Pro supports both fingerprint and face unlocking mechanism and both the methods are very very quick and work accurately.  The battery on this smartphone is a 3500 mAh rated and lasts for around a day or a bit more with medium usage. The charger in the box is 5V 2A which is not a fast charger and the charging port is a Micro USB and not a type C.

Realme 2 Pro runs on Color OS 5.2 operating system based on Android Oreo 8.1. The UI is not the best here and has bloatware that does not give the best user experience. Apart from this, all is perfect with this Realme 2 Pro smartphone for the price range it offers. This phone does not get any IP rating so you need to protect it from dust and water.
